Children’s Home
In 2003, the Children’s Home was opened. The original intention was to house 50 orphans. However, due to the demand, the children’s home houses 200 orphans living in the children’s home 24/7.
The orphans are brought to the children’s home by the social welfare office. The age range is 1-18 years old. Due to the pressure of infant children whose parents died soon after delivery, the orphanage decided to start baby care on a very small scale. Many of these orphans will come very sick due to malnutrition and worms. In some cases children will be HIV positive (through childbirth) and have never been checked or put on medication. These children need our help.
In Malawi people with Albinism live in fear of attacks by criminal gangs who target them for their body parts to sell. Even after dark the graves of people with albinism are at risk of grave robbery. Recently the children’s home has been able to rescue children who were abducted and witnessed murder of their siblings. The children with albinism need special care because of lacking any pigment in their skin they are at risk for sun exposure, poor vision and skin cancer, not to mention the emotional and physical trauma many have endured.
The children receive the Word daily and learn to have faith in Jesus Christ for their needs. Every child is loved, clothed and educated. It takes a lot to care for orphaned children, caregivers, teachers, cooks, facility maintenance and the list goes on. With this, it takes a lot of funds to care for each child. We have faith that God will send us a sponsor for each child. For only $60/month you can support one of our orphans.
For your monthly contribution, you will receive information on the child you are supporting and the ability to correspond with the child. Please pray that God will find support for each of our precious children. James 1:27, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Prayerfully consider supporting an orphan.
